About This Event

Alongside moving student performances of music and dance that honor the theme of memory, this year’s program will feature a talk by author Elizabeth White on her book, The Counterfeit Countess: The Jewish Woman Who Rescued Thousands of Poles during the Holocaust, an extraordinary true story of a Polish Jewish scholar who reinvented herself as a false aristocrat in order to negotiate directly with top Nazi officials to save thousands of lives. This program is a joint collaboration between George Mason Judaic Studies, the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, and Mason Hillel.
