About This Event

Healing Across the Divides (HATD) supports community groups that promote the health of marginalized Israelis and all Palestinians. It encourages community group interaction where possible in an effort to further mutual understanding. HATD has funded more than 50 Israeli and Palestinian community groups, and measurably improved the lives of over 200,000 marginalized Israelis and Palestinians. All are welcome; no advance registration is required to attend. Please note: this program will take place in-person only at Temple Micah; no online option will be available. Parking in the lot will be limited; public transportation, street parking, or ridesharing is encouraged. About the Speaker: As founder and CEO, Norbert Goldfield, MD has focused for more than 20 years on peace-building through health in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Dr. Goldfield also worked for 30 years as medical director for a research group developing tools linking payment for health care services to improved health care outcomes. Dr. Goldfield has published more than 100 books and articles. He is also a practicing internist at a community health center. Dr. Goldfield has served on a number of local and national non-profit boards (including Congregation B’nai Israel, where he served as president, and Bend the Arc). He has taught college courses on a variety of topics including Peace Building Through Health, and the Impact of AIDS on American cities.
