Each of us may be favoring one party or leader. But are we sufficiently familiar with how the system works? This is a rare opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of the Israeli parliamentary system: – When are elections called? – How does a government fall? – The roles of public and private financing of campaigns – The mechanisms for building ruling coalitions – The role of primaries and the forming of party slates – Who appoints cabinet ministers? – The differences between national and municipal elections – The President’s role in choosing a leader to form a governing majority
