About This Event

Please join the Abrahamic House Fellows and community for a masquerade ball to celebrate Purim and Ayyám-i-Há! For both of these holidays, we give generously to those in need, share meals with friends, and celebrate with our communities. During Purim, Jews around the world will retell the Book of Esther, which celebrates Jewish survival and continuity. It is also tradition for people to dress up and wear masks to symbolize themes in the story. Ayyám-i-Há are the intercalary days of the Bahá’í calendar, marking the period immediately before the month of fasting. Bahá’ís celebrate Ayyám-i-Há as a time of abundance, including festivities with friends and family, gift giving, acts of charity, and praying in anticipation of a period of restraint during the nineteen-day fast. This event will take place on Saturday, February 28th from 8:00 -11:30PM. The location for this event will be an outside venue in the Shaw area; exact details will be provided via email within 72 hours of the event.
