Rabbi’s Class: Ruth and the Art of Kindness

On the holy day of Shavuot, we read the Book of Ruth which tells the story of two women, Ruth and Naomi who experience hardship together and find companionship and support with one another. Kindness permeates this story, and it teaches us what true kindness can look like. Its LGBTQ+ themes are also well documented and will be discussed. Let’s study this ancient text and find its contemporary relevance in anticipation of the festival.
