A Jewish Approach to Mental Health Exploring Mental Health Issues through Jewish Wisdom, Spirit, and Community. Mental health is a cornerstone for wellbeing – for individuals, for families, and for the community at large. Mental health is not only a medical issue but also a spiritual one. Jewish tradition teaches that caring for one’s mind is part of caring for one’s soul. And caring for others and their mental health is a mitzvah. Join us for thoughtful exploration of mental health issues through a Jewish lens. Together we will unpack how Jewish tradition understands emotional wellbeing – from biblical struggles with despair to contemporary approaches rooted in spirituality and community. Hear from rabbis, mental health professionals, and community members as we discuss how Jewish wisdom can support emotional wellbeing. Multiple sessions are planned; participants may choose to attend all or some of these sessions.
