The American Jewish Committee (AJC) is a global advocacy and civil rights organization founded in 1906, dedicated to promoting the well-being of Jewish communities and Israel, advancing democratic values, intergroup relations, and human rights worldwide through diplomacy, policy advocacy, and education. Programs for young professionals are coordinated primarily through its young leadership division, ACCESS, which includes: - ACCESS (Alexander Young Leadership Division): AJC’s dedicated platform for Jewish young professionals (in their 20s and 30s), empowering them to engage with global and domestic issues, build international peer networks, and advocate on behalf of the Jewish community. - ACCESS Leadership Fellowship (ALEF): A flagship leadership development initiative for Jewish professionals aged 22–40, offering advocacy training and an opportunity to deepen understanding of antisemitism and policy engagement. -ACCESS D.C.: A vibrant chapter based in Washington, D.C., that provides young Jewish professionals with unparalleled opportunities to connect with foreign diplomats, Capitol Hill, and diverse interfaith and multicultural communities. Programming includes high-level gatherings such as “Dinner with a Diplomat,” the “Young Diplomats Reception,” Black‑Jewish Unity Seders, Intergenerational Program Series, Advocacy Committees, international travel missions, and more. Beyond its young professionals division, AJC also offers broader leadership and exchange opportunities, such as Project Interchange, a week-long program that brings hundreds of international leaders (from fields like journalism, government, academia, and healthcare) to Israel for customized educational visits, meetings with policymakers, and cross-cultural dialogue.
