NoVaChai is a Virginia 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial and programmatic support to teachers and students who strive to explore and illustrate Jewish experience and history.

NoVaChai is a grassroots initiative founded in 2024 to create a more positive and supportive learning environment for Jewish students in the Washington, DC region. Its name combines Northern Virginia with *chai*, the Hebrew word for life, reflecting its mission to celebrate and sustain Jewish identity and culture. The organization works to increase appreciation for Jewish history and contemporary experiences among high school students by expanding access to classroom content that better represents Jewish perspectives, supporting students who want to start or maintain clubs focused on Jewish life and learning, and recognizing outstanding student work that explores Jewish identity, history, politics, and achievements.
