It is not in spite of our Orthodoxy that we believe in the importance of social justice. It is specifically because of our halachik observance that we are called to show up for the ger – the stranger, the vulnerable, and the marginalized. Viewing the world through a Torah lens means we have a social responsibility toward humanitarian issues. We are proud of this obligation to stand shoulder to shoulder with Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews alike and in society at large to combat the suffering and oppression of the vulnerable and marginalized.
