About This Event

Where is God in times of tragedy? What happens after I die? Can a person really change? 12 Jewish Questions is a learning community for adults – Jewish and non-Jewish – that draws upon 3,500 years of Jewish wisdom to deeply explore twelve of life’s most essential questions. 12 Jewish Questions is a semester-long course led by Rabbi Aaron Miller, alongside the entire Washington Hebrew clergy team. Through energetic presentation and rich group discussion, 12 Jewish Questions will help you discover a side of Judaism, and yourself, that you had not known before. Whether you went to seminary, left religious school after bar or bat mitzvah, or did not grow up Jewish, 12 Jewish Questions is designed for everyone, regardless of their background or religious affiliation. Students leave 12 Jewish Questions with a more complex and nuanced appreciation of Jewish thought, a caring and supportive WHC community, and many more questions than when the course began. Schedule: Mondays at Temple, 7:00 pm, starting March 9, with a Shabbat dinner on Friday, April 10. Cost (includes dinner): $330 for WHC members, $385 for non-members. New Members (after June 2024), Parents/Guardians of a currently enrolled ECC student or recent b’nei mitzvah, and Sustaining Members (Pillar+ or Young Sustainer) may take this class for free (if never taken before). 12JQ is subsidized thanks to the generous support of Andrew R. Ammerman.
