Find your harmony with Makela! 🎶 Makela is a DMV-based Jewish a cappella group bringing together singers who share a love of music and Jewish community. Our repertoire spans Hebrew and English, from American and Israeli pop to R&B, folk, and traditional Jewish liturgy—and you don't need to speak Hebrew to join. Since 2001, Makela has performed throughout the DC area at synagogues, holiday celebrations, folk festivals, community events, and more. We rehearse Wednesday evenings at members' homes in and around DC, building not just great harmonies, but friendships and community along the way.
